I've never bought a tut but I watched video after video and still they weren't right. I found one more video and finally I got it!! It's an awesome feeling when you finally figured it out! I know what you mean about the one side not coming out. Send me a pic and I'll see if it was the same thing I was doing.

Ok I will post photos of how mine are turning out in a bit. I've been trying 2 different methods. Does it matter if I'm using 7/8" or 1.5" ribbon? I adjust the measurements depending on what size but I've seen them made with both and not totally sure which works better cause the 7/8" always looks REALLY small to me.

Go figure when I go to make the ones to ask for help on they finally cooperate after a lot of twisting and what not, so still looking for help ladies the one with the black thread (the left one I believe) I did using the method where you mark the ribbon and than fold the marks to the spots. And than the other one I did using the Lil Hiccups Tut. And that one still doesn't look quite right and it took a TON of manipulation to get it to sit that way and as soon as I moved it, it lost the look...I REALLY need to master these for my niece cause I have to have a big OTT bow ready for her in a couple weeks for her daddy's R&R outfit! lol so PLEASE help me!

Make sure your X shape is a tall X and not a flat one, meaning the top an bottom angles should be acute (smaller), and the one on the sides should be obtuse (bigger).

The other half of the battle is really just shaping it.They don't always come out looking perfect, you have to play with them to get the loops looking just right. Then you should starch it to help it keep its shape. If you don't have starch, just use hairspray.

I can't get it either. I bought the BBM and still cant get it. I have a problem with the whole sewing thing. And my hands shake terribly all the time so it makes it even more difficult. Lots of luck!

Does it matter what type of hairspray you use? I had starch and it's disappeared lol But I have a lot of hairspray...

I practiced for over a year before I thought I was good at it. Its all about the angles and get the last loop even by making it smaller then when you tie it off its the same size. Weird I know but it works for me.

I haven't tried that one yet, but I am hoping to be able to make it. It looks hard though
