Default Marabou puffs

How do i make marabou puffs? I know you can buy them but im sure its cheaper to make your own. I've only worked with Marabou once and when i cut it it got all over the place. Is there any way to prevent that? Also how do i attatch a alligator clip to it so it won't fall off after a while?

I glue mine to a felt circle and then glue the felt circle to the clippie. Unless you work in a vaccuum - ha - really no way to avoid the mess. Cut them inside the garbage can and blow off some feathers, and that is about the best I can tell you.

I wrap the end with scotch tape and cut in the middle, make the circle and glue the ends in an x so the tape is on the inside. Still get some fly aways, but much less

I did a bunch of ostrich puffs the other day.. and my living room looked like I had killed a multi color bird, it was a super mess. I don't think I will ever do that again. I did order a bunch of marabou but I am not playing with it until I can do so outside.

Allicat im having trouble seeing the what it would look like after you cut the tape and glue it to the felt. Not really getting what you mean about in an x.

Go just above the tape and criss cross the marabou. Lift one side up a little and put some hot glue in. I don't do just marabou puffs on clips, I use them in the middle of bows, so you never see the tape and don't need the felt. hth- if not I can take a pic and show you
