Question If you hand deliver orders..

How do you package them?
I just offered to do this today and all I can come up with is...

For hair accessories..
1. attaching to a clip card as usual
2. inserting that in a clear cello baggie
3. wrapping it in tissue
4. and putting it in a shopping/gift bag

how about you??
Any ideas for tutu dresses or pettis?

Wonder if you could do those in the clear top boxes? Sorta like the clear topped cake boxes? Then fold it in there with a pretty note card or something with your name and contact info? Or even a pretty gift bag if you could fold it neatly in there....

I don't overdo it on packaging because it cuts into profits too much. Like, what you explained is way too much, in my opinion.

I generally do just the clear goodie bags from the dollar store. For larger orders, I use gift boxes I got on mark-down after the holidays. Or, when Hobby Lobby has seasonal items, I get their little gift boxes to use when people order seasonal items. I got some CUTE Valentine's ones for what amounted to a quarter a box. But, I only use the cute boxes if the order is at least 10 dollars. Otherwise, it's not worth the extra expense.

But, I don't make the big fancy bows cause they just don't sell around here. If those are what you're delivering, more packaging would fit into my "at least 10 dollars" thing, anyway!

Thank you for your input.
...I like to overdo it.... on everything!
I guess since it's not a business but more of a hobby to keep me busy, I like to package everything the way I would like to receive them..overdone!

I don't know where you usually get your packaging so I don't know what you pay. I used to be a rep for Cello in a Box - was a rep not because I had parties and sold it but because it worked for the business I had at the time. But the prices are not too bad there, depending on sizes you need. So you might look into them if you end up selling the things full time. Or at least check them out to see how the prices are compaired to what you usually pay. You can buy as a customer or become a rep, you didn't used to have to buy a bunch to be a rep if I remember correctly, but then it has been probably 5 years ago now.....

I usually put the clip(s) on a business card and then put them in a plastic bag. If it's a really large order, say for a party or a team, I'll put it in a pretty gift bag with a "Good Luck" or "Happy Birthday" card with it.
