Default Professional bow makers please HELP..

OK so I'm kinda new to this whole bow making thing. I have really only made bows for friends and family. I have a friend who is wanting some bows like in the pic ( If I can figure out how to post a pic it will be there). She is wanting some made with 2 and 3in ribbon and wants them to look very relaxed like in the pic. I don't know but to me it looks like maybe the ribbon in the pic is 1.5in ( Just guessing). But how do you make them look so relaxed? From what I have done with bows and heard on many different sights most makers spray their bows with either spray starch or hair spray to make them stiff so they won't lose their shape or become squished while shipping. Please help!!! What would I do to keep this relaxed look? Do you spray these bows with anything or do they pretty much keep their shape because the ribbon is larger.. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Amber

Starching is important when you need a bow to keep its shape. If you want to attempt a TBB in 2" or larger ribbon, you are going to end up with a very floppy bow. If you are trying to achieve a relaxed look, and not have it fly all over the place, you can starch it, then shape it to how you want it to look while it's still wet, and then it will dry into that shape. For something that large, you might want a higher concentration of starch to water though.
