Default Limp Korkers...

I hope you all are having a great afternoon!

Ladies, I have been making my korker ribbon by starching them with Faultless Heavy Starch, baking them at 275 for 25 - 30 minutes then letting them cool off and spraying them with Stiffen Stuff BUTTTTTTTT...

they are not stiff!!! Urgh they are not my friend right now. I used to buy my korker ribbon and it was super stiff but I figured I could do it myself.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this darn ribbon is not getting hard lol

I have looked through the posts here and most people say to do what I am doing and it is not working. My poor little korkers are limp!

Thanks in advance lovelies!

Try increasing the temp a little bit this should do it, but before you do this make sure you have 100% polyester ribbon, I once used polyamide ribbon and ended up with waves instead of curls.

I wrap mine tight, stick in oven 275 for 25-30 min, unwrap, make my korker then spray with stiffen stuff. They come out STIFF. Sometimes too stiff

I think you spraying them After they come out of the oven and getting them "wet" is what is causing them to be limp.
I make mine with out spraying them at all, just plain, and they come out perfect, try that

Maybe your oven is not heating correctly.
Are you wrapping tightly?
Are you using crappy shinny grosgrain?
I bake, turn off oven, spray, put back in oven to dry, they let stay in oven until cool. Shhhhh don't tell anyone my secret

Thanks for the tip. Would you recommend 300? Yes it is 100% polyester

Thanks for all of your help ladies.

I can try not spraying them when they come out but I normally wait until they cool, then spray again, then dry over night.

I am wrapping as tightly as I can. The grosgrain I use is not shiny. It is just normal... lol I will try letting them cool off in the oven.

I have my oven heating now. I will try these tips and let y'all know.

Wellllll ladies,

So far I have tried to increase the baking time, along with not spraying them afterwards and still limp korkers
