Default Having a problem with bottlecaps

I made and printed some bottle cap images. I took everyone's advice and sealed them with clear nail polish but for some reason some of them smear and some don't. i coated them a few times. glued them to the bottle cap and let them sit for a few days then i mod podged over them and they were fine. let them sit for a few more days and put the resin over and all of a sudden some of them smear. This has happened every time i make them. A few are fine but a few are messed up. don't know what i am doing wrong. I did make sure to coat the front back and edges of the images.

If it helps I am using HP premium 5x7 photo paper and an HP PSC 1510 inkjet printer. I would just get them developed but there is no way to convert my document to a photo that i can see on my computer.

I use ET Lite resin. I don't seal mine at all. Just the resin. I use the most expensive photo paper because I did have problems with smearing when I used the cheaper paper.

When i first started making them with my sister we were using paper glaze but i switched to ET and it still does it. I think it may be the photo paper. I am going to try the premium plus and if that doesn't work i guess i will have to figure out how to use my gimp so i can send it to the photo lab.

I use the high quality kodak paper and a kodak printer and mine have never smeared. I still coat with mod podge because I was having a problem with the resin going under the image.

I don't print my images at home. It's cheaper for me to print them through a photo lab (usually 10 a piece) and you don't have to worry about the images smearing. The only down side is if you do custom caps you have to wait a little longer. If you try to print through walgreens be sure to call them and tell them you don't want to the auto correct, photos come out horrible and off color with it and great without.

I don't seal my images and the only ones that have ever come close to "running" are the ones with A LOT of red in them, the resin gets a little pink-ish.
