Default Ribbon-wrapped Headband Help Please

Hi crafty ladies! I have a quick question about wrapping ribbon around plastic headbands that I can't seem to figure out i've been using 3/8" ribbon on 3/8" headbands, and I can't seem to find a comfortable angle to wrap the ribbon at. In order to get the ribbon to lie flat, I end up having to pull it really tight and go really slow - so I've been ending up with a lovely headband, but it takes about 15 minutes and my hands are super sore! I've been using hot glue to secure the ends and a bit along the way...

Any tips would be very appreciated! Thanks so much!

NOt sure there is an easier way?? It takes me a little while(not 15 min) and my hands are very sore when I finish. I stop for a sec while doing it just to give my hand a rest.

Ah, okay! I thought it was just me! i watched some YouTube videos, and the folks there didn't seem to have to pull as hard on the ribbon to make it perfectly flat, but maybe that's just the magic of video!! Thanks

When I first started making them my hands would get sore. Over time though, I started to relax and they still look great. I think I was concerned with them laying just perfect and was stressing myself out a bit.

You may also want to consider purchasing the double-sided tape to hold your ribbon in place. That turned out to be a lifesaver for my hands. You can find some here: http://www.madebykarina.com/item_118...Sided-Tape.htm

You can put it on the top or underside of the headband; whichever works best for you.

My hands get sore too.... but i think that's really the only way to do though... Maybe use a slightly bigger headband?

Question about the dbl sided tape, if it's put on top, doesn't that prevent you from sliding a bow (on an alli clip) on to it? I mean, it seems like it would be easier and neater than using glue, but how would you get the bow on?

For the ribbon-wrapped headbands I do (the woven ones) there are top layers that don't stick to the plastic headband base.
