Do I have ADD or what.. you would think I would forget about this flower but no..

ok lets see if i attached this right, anyhow i did this one i got the satin material didnt measure of course i folded it in half and then made a wavy edge all the way through and did individual slits. Once that was done i opened it up and ran them over a candle to singe them then folded them back up and sewed on the bottom pulled together and glued them on felt. I wanted to add feathers so i did and i love it but now dont know what to do with it lol.
absolutely stunning! i've got a w/burner tool on my wish list & wondered if anyone has cut them out/singed at the same time.

and your link chippchick for the sash is equally gorgeous. lol on bias . . . it still gives a shabby look but eliminates long strings . . .

Bias grain is the thread line that is at a right angle to the lengthwise and crosswise grain of the fabric as it is on the bolt. The bias has stretch in woven fabric and will hang differently than a garment that has been cut on the straight or crosswise grain.

there's a pic here . . . http://sewing.about.com/od/beginner1/p/fabricgrain.htm

It is a higher grade of flower you can buy I think I saw it at HL and them you heat the edges with a embosing gun to kind of singe it .

Stacie, I am quite sure that this flower pic is not from this tutorial.. but this looks like it would do it if you understand bias.. which I don't

I am heading to Michaels to buy one and put some heat to it.. I forgot I have a new heat gun.. I will let you know how it goes.
This tutorial is beautiful! It's definitely different from the original, but I really like it and want to try this one, too, now! Sadly, I don't understand bias very well, either, but I've been meaning to figure it out, so maybe it's time. Thank you for posting the link, hon!

WOW! This turned out AWESOME! Great job!

Can you explain what you mean when you say you "made a wavy edge all the way through?" That step is confusing me still. Thank you!
