Maybe I should try these... Have you ever tried the ones from kates craft store? Wonder how they compare?

It says "makes approx. 180 grips if cut to 1" lengths". So about .12 cents each. I'd like to try some before I buy the roll.

I use the fluffy side of velcro as my no slip grip. I buy a huge roll (25 yard) of 1" wide adhesive back velcro (soft side only) and then cut thin strips to line my clips with. I get my velcro from here.

I've been using bathroom silicone, but was debating on transitioning to the tape. It's such a pain in the butt to cut the strips, put the silicone one, let it dry then line the clips. I was debating on at least getting some black and white prelined clips from mysunshine shoppe to save some time. We use different brands of ribbon though, so not sure if I'll be able to use her colored clips.

She sells a 6" strip for $1.50, no added shipping, so you can try them. Says it will do 6 alligator clips.

Do you know if there is a tut on this? I am trying to picture what you do to make your silicone strips yourself. Thanks!

Just buy a tube of bathroom silicone (clear looks better). Cut your strips to line your clips (about 4 1/4 inches, depending on how you line them), seal the ends, and apply a line of silicone to an inch or so of the end. It takes a while to dry, so I will cut a ton of strips (100s) and line them all up on my table. I line them all with the silicone and let them dry over night, then just throw them in a baggie in the morning for lining clips as I go. Hence the reason I said it's very time consuming and a real PIA!!!
