Default Speaking of flip flops...

I asked this question before but didn't get any answers. When you make your flip flops, do you wrap the straps, glue ribbon on outside of straps, or just not do anything to the straps? I'm asking because I used alot of ribbon just on the straps. What do customers think?

i'm not a pro at them, and I have only made a few pairs for family members. I wrapped the straps in 5/8 or 7/8 grosgrain. I am thinking of making some without wrapping the straps to sell at a craft fair. I am thinking of attaching some korkers to them since I am not that great with layered bows yet.

I wrap the straps in two different 3/8" ribbon it takes an average of about 14" of each ribbon per flip flop. I really like the look of the wrapped straps.

I wrap my straps and attatch different kinds of bows. I think the wrapped straps give it a more polished look. I know a lady who only glues bows to hers, but I have heard a lot of people say that they prefer the wrapped straps.

I have yet to make a pair of these, but they are in the works for one day!

I go to Etsy and other places and just look at how people make theirs. I have seen some people just glue a ribbon on the strap like an accent. It looks pretty good also.

Take a look around and see what is selling.

I guess I am a weirdo, but I don't really like the wrapped ones, but I love the ones that are lined around the bottom!

Thanks everyone!! Next time, I'll just use a solid ribbon from UB to do the straps and keep my cute ribbons for the bow! lol.

I have only made one pair of flip flops for my dd. I wrapped the straps and I love the way it looks. The only thing I didn't like is that it rubbed my dd's feet and left them red. I think I will try to just line the outside of the strap next time!

I like to use the old navy flip flops because the outside of the foot straps fit a 3/8 inch ribbon perfectly, so I just line the outside of the straps instead of wrapping. It takes like 5 inches instead of 25.

Here is one on my etsy site if you need a visual:
