Default felt circles

Is there a certain kind of felt to use to make the felt circles that go on the back of bows?

I think it just depends on personal preference. When I am backing my wool felt flower clips, I use wool (or wool blend) and when I am backing my silk flowers or shabby flower headbands I usually use the acrylic felt off of the bolt (not the el cheapo squares from the craft store. That is too thin)

Where can you buy wool, wool blend and acrylic felt? I have only seen the cheap squares.

Do you have a JoAnn's Fabrics?

I just buy the circles from Ribbonretreat. I don't have a cutting machine to cut out the circles....maybe Santa will bring one??

Our local fabric stores carry wool blends and acrylic felt on the bolt. I usually get my wool felt from Vintage Vogue (online) b/c they have a great color selection and great customer service. My acrylic felt comes from the local Hancock Fabrics--they had a huge sale at Halloween and it was only $2.99/yard!

So glad I read this! I am getting ready to make my daughter shabby flower headbands this weekend and I would have used the cheapo felt squares for the circles. I had no idea there were different types of felt. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to JoAnn's tomorrow!

I usually use the stiff felt from Joanne's, but I use my bigshot to cut the circles. I have bought the circles from the ribbon retreat, too...
