Default Having a HUGE Conflict

Ok...let me see if I can explain this clearly lol...

When I line a clip, I usually leave the part on the top but on the inside not glued. Why? becasue when I attach the bow I usually leave enough center knot string to wrap around and glue to the underneath of the top part and then glue the the rest of the lining for the clip over it.

Does that make sense? If so, it winds up costing me a LOT of time. Should I line my clips and just hot glue the bow to the top or is the extra step I'm taking worth the time?....it holds me up BIG time....

HELP

I am having a hard time picturing what you are describing. Can you post a picture...if it's not too time consuming?

I think I know what you mean...I do the same thing. Basically she is hiding the ends of the ribbon used to make her center knot by only partially lining the clip, hot gluing it onto the bow, gluing the ends of the knot onto the clip and then finishing lining the clip.

I like hte look of it b/c it kind of hides the ends of the ribbon but I get what you mean about it being time consuming.....

I say line your clip and put your knot on to your bow and glue the tails from your knot to the under side of your bow then glue your clip to your bow. this is how I do it for my business and for my dd and she is tuff on bows and has yet to pull one off.

I started to use this technique and I didn't like it because no matter how I position the bow the clip would always show.

I do the same thing you are describing and yes it is very time consuming! I am always frustrated by how long it takes me to glue everything together once it is made.

I have a few customers that have complimented my bows for the details...always fully lined with grips, very cleanly assembled. I keep doing it because I feel it makes a difference with my customers.

I put the center ribbon over the lined clip, and my no slip grips cover up the odd ends---never thought it looked unfinished or messy. Oh, and I always heat seal everything, so that helps with neatness too!
