Default Santa tutu - How to add marabou trim?

I really want to make a santa tutu for my new little God-daughter!!! Is it sewn on? Does that affect the stretchiness of the elastic??

Where do I find the marabou?

Thanks!

I would recommend that the tutu not be the tied on strips of tulle, but rather one continuous round like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/85572599...facet=handmade.

To purchase the Maraboo, Ribbon and Bows sells it as does The Ribbon Retreat. I would not recommend purchasing maraboo from Halo Heaven as it is not very good quality.

Best of luck! I hope you post pics so I can see what brilliant thing you come up with!!

Ah, so better to do a dress vs. a traditional tutu skirt?? Is the entire "strip" of marabou just sewn onto the crochet??

I just sewed the marabu on my DDs emprie waisted tutu dress, I tacked it every few inches and made sure I left a little slack between stiches so that it still streches a few inches when you pull at the top elastic

If you are making a crochet tutu dress then all you have to do is weave it around throw the holes and stitch only the two ends to the dress with white thread.
This is the dress that I made: http://www.etsy.com/listing/85935086...ss?ref=pr_shop
Hope this helps
