~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I got 4th July ribbons in the TRR little box of Treasure. The ribbons weren't long enough for me to make bows for DD.
But I saw these really cute tops at Old Navy for $4.99. I liked the tops, but I don't have much of a chest to hold it up. So, I ended up using the ribbons as straps for my top .
In the first photo you can see what the top would have looked like without the straps. And the second photo was my finished product. Now I am all ready for 4th of July.
Oh, and I made a red, white & blue tutu for DD-- so she is all ready for 4th of July too
love it!! You're so creative. I think you improved the top. I always wondered what came in a little box of treasure. Would you buy it again?
Thank you . I would buy the little box of treasure again. They are long enough for tiny bows or clippies, just not long enough to make a set of medium bows DD wears. For $0.50, I think it's worth the price, but I wish you could buy more than 1 box, because really, I think the length of ribbons is only long enough for make 1 medium bow. I like making sets of 2's, so I did not know what I was going to do with the ribbons at first.
So cool!!!! Love the way it turned out! Did you sew the ribbon on the top by hand or with the sewing machine?
It's so cute, Jen! You've inspired me- I must try to make a tutu some day.
Thank you everyone, you are all so kind .
I attached the ribbons to the top using my sewing machine. The sewing machine was getting a little dusty, so I thought I would give it a spin .
I used my bra straps to determine the length of the ribbons I need & measured about 3 inches in on the shirt (3 inches from the armpit area, if that makes sense) & sew. 3 inches is what works for me, but you might want to see what's more comfortable for you.
You can totally do this by hand too, but I am lazy and it is super easy to just sew the stright line on the shirt using the machine.
