Matching purse & bows for dd

One of my dd's wanted one of these purses (so I made her one). Then I decided I would make her some matching bows, what do you think?

Cut your ribbon into 5 or 6 inch pieces. I used about 25 pieces on each side of this purse. Find the center of the ribbon pieces and that is where you will sew them onto the purse. You can pin the ribbon pieces down if you want, but I found it easier to just add the ribbon pieces as I sewed them (without pinning). Sew them with a straight line across the top of the purse. After you finish sewing them on you tie each ribbon in a knot.

On these little purses I only did one layer, but on the bigger totes I make two layers of ribbon. It gives it a fuller look. To do that you sew the bottom layer first, then the top layer (making sure that you don't catch any of the ribbons from the bottom layer under the foot).

I hope that those instructions are clear. I'm not always the best at explaining these things.
