I think $40 is perfect. I hate to see how over-priced most boutique items are. That is why I got into this business, to offer these items at reasonable prices. Surely you could get $50 out of it but you will sell MANY more at $40. You did a great job on the tutu (that doesn't happen often from what I've seen on etsy!).

That is so adorable.

Okay, I am probably going to be booed big time, but my rule on pricing is to figure what I have in materials and then I double it.

I would rather sell 10 of something at $22 than sell 2 of them for $30. That is just me. I just can't overcharge someone when I don't want to be overcharged myself.

I guess it also depends on where you live. People would ooh and ahh over my stuff all day, but if they saw $50 on an item that a child could only wear for 2 months before they outgrew it they would smile and walk away. If it was a onsie then there is no way a child could wear it for more than 3 months (that would be pushing the length of time in my opinion due to stains and such).

Don't get me wrong, it is GORGEOUS and if I was not trying to survive on disability and craft shows then maybe $50 would sound great. I would LOVE and be PROUD to put one of my children in something so nice as what you make.beautiful.

You might try selling them for $50 for a while and then drop them to $40 over visa versa and see what you sell more of.

I totally agree that you have $50 or even $75 worth of your time and effort put into that outfit. I just don't think "most" people can hand over half a days worth of work for anything anymore.

Okay, I'm gonna go hide under my rock now while people throw stones at me for saying $50 is too much. LOL
