Ok, first, I think that if you use less layers, it looks better smaller. also, vary the size of the layers. I use between 7 and 15 layers in mine

Also, what kind of fabric (not the organza) are you using?

What kind of candle?

I found some satin and shangtung silk on sale at hancocks and I did buy organza. I bought a glitter organza( that has a sheen to it) and I bought one that has sparkles on it. Is that the right fabric? I must have miss read the tut it's incorrect.

Thanks for the help!

for the silk, if it is 100% silk, It wont roll when it singes so those layers you want to be smaller than the ones around it as it wont singe

I use things that are polyester most often BUT DO NOT USE TAFFETA, it just burns in to a ball unless you are VERY VERY Careful!!! Takes me twice as long to make a flower with taffeta so I quit doing it with that.

The fabric choices really make a big difference in how they look in the end. The organza is right, I meant the fabrics other than the organza.

I prefer a mid weight satin ploy lining material or special occasion fabrics

How is the best way to line up the petals? Do you just eyeball it or is there a secret? Sorry for butting in, just wondering is there is a secret to this?
