Ok I posted it here cause I guess it is an off topic. But anyway, I posted recently about my grands competing in a beauty pageant. I mentioned that I was making a tutu dress for my grand daughter. I finished it. I tried to make the empire waist type, but I think that I made the space to small. I like it anyway, escpecially without instructions. So here are a few pics. She did not want to hold still. It still has static til I spray it, so with every move it flew around. The first two are as good as I could get and the third she decided she wasn't standing anymore. Let me know what you think.

WOW! THAT is gorgeous!!!! And the eyes on her...she is a total doll!

Did you say you did that without instructions!?! How many rolls of tulle did you need for that one. I made some really full tutus for the grands Halloween costumes and went through four rolls. Yours being long, you must have used a lot.

What a cutie - perfect model! Even sitting down, lol!

PS - my dh would want the elephant in the background

Applause...Applause...That looks great! I too would like to know how you did it and how much tulle it took. I like the empire waist. So if you post instructions, please be sure to include a materials list with specific amounts (if you can).

And the model.....She's beautiful!

I did it the hard way with the tulle. I couldn't wait to order rolls, so I bought off the bolt at wal mart and cut it. I used 20 yards. It's actually very simple. I am not good at making "instructions" so I will explain the best I can at how I did it. I measured from her armpits to right above her ankle, doubled that and added an inch or two to make up for the knots. I measured around her chest, I used measurment guides from regular tutu instructions and minused 5 inches from that. A little hint though, I had to make sure the elastic stretched because it ended up a little tight. So i should have only minused maybe 2 to 3 inches. I made two circles of elastic the same size ( I should have measured where I wanted to have the second elastic also, but I didn't, trial and error, I learn the best that way). I tied slip knots around the first circle of elastic, and then around the second piece. If you can make a regular tutu, you can make one of these. You just need to make sure that as you tie around the elastic, the pieces stay about the same distance apart. Hopefully I will be able to get around to ordering the rolls and can make good instructions. Hope that helps. Thank you all for the compliments on the grand. Pap pap and grammy spoil her way to much.

Ok I bought the elephant at a christmas auction and there is a girl elephant to go with him. I bought them because of the clothes they were wearing. I get them home and realize that they represent the republican party. My husband and his whole family are democrat. Sooooooo! Oh well, I like them just because they matched the colors in my living room.
