Default New at the bow making.WDYT?

Hi I am new to this bow making thing but do enjoy it so much. Been looking to find new ways to make them. I make them for my baby girl who has a hearing disability.I make them for here so people wont pay that much attention to her hearing aids. If you have any suggestions on how to make some and a way to make templates that would be great. But please be honest.. If they are crumy please tell me. I need to get better and with me not able to work I have alot of time on my hands.

I think your bows look great! Before I bought my templates I made some out of stiff cardboard, I used the back of an old picture frame. Cut them the width you would want your be to be say 4.5 inches wide and probably 6 to 7 inches long. Then you cut a slit out of the center about 1/4 inch. Make your slit to where you have about 1 to 1 1/2 inches left at the top. This is where you put your string, wire or what ever you tie off with. Be sure to secure your ribbon with aligator clips or clothes pins to keep ribbon tight. And of course measure to the center before cutting your slit and allow for the 1/4 inch. Good Luck! I hope this helps and made sense.

That does make alot of sense.Thank you. Like I said I am new to this and just found some free instructions on the net and went from there. Since I have 3 kiddos it makes it hard to purchase instrutions espically since their father passed away in December. So now it is just me. So if you have any ideas on making different ones that would be super.. Thanks so much for the advise tho. I will start looking thru my old frames (the ones that have broken glass) and do what you said. I used cardboard from like cereal boxes and stuff like that but they dont last long. Thanks again Melissa
