If they have federal regulations regarding clothing or accessories as manufacturers, thats their responsibility. He may be right, he may be crazy.

There may be rules that corporations have to follow because they have liability issues, consumer safety....

Wouldn't worry about it as individual bowmakers.

at least thats my 2 cents.

I'm LOL about "Gymboree Law".
I wouldn't think a large bow would pose a safety hazard, it's the small ones they should worry about!
Glad you had fun! I wish I could go! LOL

the guy is a dufus!

I get that they may have gone through test but....... law! lol - ...... and it may get caught on something .....so might a little bow .. then the clip slips out it will not strangle you......again - I just think he's a dufus.

So, I just want to let you know.
That sounds so exciting and fun! Can you tell us what season the fitting was for - summer, fall, etc?

As far as bow size, I don't know the law, but I wouldn't doubt they have one. Kinda like how they can't put loose strings in clothes and whatnot. I guess the bigger loops could get caught on something on the playground or whatever. But they sell necklaces which could get caught on stuff, too. Who knows! We don't do bigger than 3 inch bows b/c my little one has a peanut head.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd comment, I am a Customs broker for a retail store. I have done some research on this topic and haven't found any rulings regarding the size of headwear, including hairbows, for children. I think all of you are correct, that this is a Gymboree policy.

Thank you, Karla, for sharing this with us. It made us all think about the possible scenarios that could occur.

Have a nice day, ladies!!

Her fitting was for fall, and it was for Gymboree and Janie and Jack. The clothes were just adorable.

I don't know if they are going to post her pictures or not. They don't tell you anything. She did one add for walmart and we still waiting to see her add. It's weird how they work because we are not allow to call them and ask where or when they are going to post the add. We also we are not allow to talk about anything when we going for auditions. If the client has any questions they have to contact the agent.

If you're not allowed to ask when or where the ad will come out, how are you supposed to know to look for it? Don't you want the ad to build up her portfolio?
