Hi Brandy,
Each group buy has a leader who will place an order from the supplier. Normally this supplier has minimum order of $50, $100 maybe more. For example.
XYZ Consulting has minimum order of $100. Buyer a, b, c, d, e, each of them only want to buy $20 worth of items. So Buyer A volunteer to be the group buy leader. Buyer b, c, d, e send buyer A the payment, which includes the cost of the items, paypal fee, shipping from supplier to buyer A so buyer A can meet $100 requirement and place the order. Once the order arrives, buyer A will let buyer b,c,d,e know what the shipping cost from her address to their addresses. Upon receiving payments for shipping, buyer A then ships the pakcages to buyer b,c,d,e.
Some group leader does not make profit from the group buy but some does.
Please note there are risks (paid but no items received etc). Also, it takes longer.
Hope it helps.
