i agree i wasn't spazzing out either. i actually considered it till i was talking to someone who ordered from china and discussed the tax and custom charges and everything else. I just said i would pass. But i think people need to be aware of the possiblity of hidden charges, because coming from china there will be customs etc.

Someone mentioned that the solid color charts are the same exact ones that offray uses.....Im hoping its similar/same as offray?

IDK, but lets just stop this....I emailed doris and he will let me know later on tonight what the other charges are....if they are too high, then fine. NO GB....not that big of a deal...k?

I am not sure how this company works, but the company I purchased from in Asia had me pay the shipping cost. Once the boxes arrived in the US, the cargo company contacted me to inform me of the custom & tax charge. So the factory I ordered the ribbons from had nothing to do with custom & tax fees. Also, if you are purchasing from overseas the first time, it is very likely your shipment will be held at customs for inspection which addes about another 1 to 3 weeks to your transporting time.

I am not sure if this helps or not, but I will try. I purchase from YAMA, I sell mostly ribbon and bows locally. I a wholesale account, retail account, and also sell in a local french market. That being said I use a good bit of ribbon. I recently placed an order for 108 rolls. I purchased 27 different colors, all in 3/8, 5/8, 7/8, and 1.5 (I am a litle weird about this I make a bow with 1.5 - center knot 7/8, 7/8 bow - center knot 5/8, 5/8 bow - center knot 3/8, 3/8 bow - center knot 3/8) Anyway, the ribbon was like $450, shipping was $595, Wire fee $40, and YAMA also charges what they call a quota fee in the amount of $40. Now, if the packages (multiple boxes, shipped pallet style) get caught up in customs it could be more money and hold the order up. My last order was here in less than a week, I think about 5 days.

The ribbon is good quality, and they offer colors compariable to Offray. I try and stick as close to the Offray colors as possible to make it easier for my customers.

I don't buy their printed ribbon because there is a 4000 yard min order per size. I do have a source for some printed ribbon they sell, but you have to be careful because they have been know to print ribbon that belong to other companies. For instance they may sell a ribbon design that is copy righted by JKM or RABOM. They will not tell you this is not there design. They are in China and don't have to worry about copy right issues, but if you buy and try to sell, could be a big problem.

That sounds very negative, so let me know say I really like there ribbon and customer service. The shipping in very steep and unless you are ordering large quantities it may not be worth it, especially if you then have it shipped from the person doing the buy.

I used to make my knots the exact same way. I recently switched them all to 5/8", no matter the bow size. Anyway, your info was very helpful. Thanks for posting!

Okay, so I just got in on this now. I'm a little behind. I did read the reply that says Michelle has some of these prints. How could someone find out where to buy their ribbon retail. Cause some of it is darn cute...
