Offray/Lion Ribbon Buy????

I am checking to see if there would be sufficient interest in a Lion Ribbon buy. This would be Offray ribbon directly from the source. I have not decided for sure if I want to do this, and I would not be ready for it immediately. I have been checking into it/setting up an account with them but don't like the fact that the first time you order there is a $250 minimum. There isn't a catalog link that I can give you (for some reason it's a big secret if you don't have a tax id). Here's an idea of pricing:

3/8 grosgrain 50 yards $5.54, 100 yards $10.30
7/8 grosgrain 20 yards $7.53, 50 yards $8.10
1 1/2 grosgrain 10 yards $5.79, 50 yards $13.99
swiss dot grosgrain only comes in 100 yards 3/8 is $34.07,7/8 is $44.37

I don't want to be in the ribbon store business, so I would want people to buy whole spools.

If anyone has had experience ordering from Lion before, I would love to hear from about it.

does that mean that you have a distributor, or that you are one?

A local "saleperson" was supposed to contact me after I received the catalog in the mail, and he never did. I even emailed him. I finally called the number on the catalog to get a price list emailed to me. Is the savings enough that it will be worth it to keep pursuing this guy rather ordering from the Lion site?

How did you get this set up? I am just wondering since a few of my friends and I all make bows and could use something like this. If you don't mind sharing I would love to know how to go about this. Thanks so much!

about a month ago I contacted Offray/Lion and they told me with a business license its a $25.00 minimum order.... It sounds like I was mis informed???

I have a manufacturer account with them. (don't know if it's the same as Lorraine's or not) My prices are lower than that also. My first order was a $250 minimum. Sadly, I had no problem reaching that The quality of ribbon is worth it and I normally have my ribbon in less than 3 days but I live in VA and they are in MD. The lion side of Offray is more for the floral department-you don't want that ribbon, it's plastic-e. Offray also has lots of polka dots and stripes. I don't know why you are having a problem getting a guy to your house. The guy who came to my house couldn't get to me fast enough. Also, as far as I know their ribbon for size 7/8" only comes in 20 or 100 yards. But I could be wrong.

For those of you who don't have RABOM's "club account" the prices are about the same as what MTBows has above for the solid gg. Just incase someone doesn't have that account with Rabom and was wondering.
