Starting group buys

Can any of you ladies tell me how to go about starting a group buy? I've never done one or participated in one so I have no clue. TIA!!!

to start one, you just find something that you want to buy- and post it and the details of how the buy will work, along with the link so people can order.

to purchase in a group buy, you just go and look and see what they are buying. decide what you want to order and place your order.

look around the board and review the posts and that should give you a good idea.

Thanks! I think I've found a GREAT place to order crochet headbands, kufi hats, etc... from but they have a minimum order of $100. I don't mind spending that much but my dh would probably have an aneurysm if I did that!!

do you mind if i ask where you found them? i am sure you could do a group buy on here and come up with more than $100 order.

yes, that is the one we just did a buy. And the order was well over the $100 mark. You will have no problems getting that amount covered!

I just finished a group buy from Accessories Palace (placed the order on Friday). There were several people who inquired about ordering after my buy closed, so I am sure you will have plenty of takers.

I haven't bought the kufi caps myself, so I can't say on those. Some ladies posted that the sizing isn't very consistent. If you weren't needing a specific fit, I suppose for the price they would still be a good deal.

I bought a lot of 1.5" crochet headbands last time and really liked them. However, I warned the ladies in my buy that you do get a dud headband every so often that needs a little hand stitching on the seam. I also received one that had some black dye on it. That being said, I believe that this happens with pretty much all of the wholesalers. When you buy at a store, they have already weeded out the bad ones. Still, you can't beat the prices. I didn't have any issues with the 5" or nylon headbands that I bought.

I have ordered from accessoriespalace and was pretty happy with my order and the quality and prices. But I do agree on the sizing on the kufi hats. They are all different which is disappointing but I've still sold them well. I may be interested in going in on a group buy. I need to take a look at my inventory from my show last week and see what I need. I'll check back to see if you're doing an order. Thanks & goodluck!
