Correct. You have to buy the fabric to cover them. The push sets are the tools that you'll need to make them. You don't NEED them as that could be done by hand, but these would just make it very easy and they are not that expensive. You layer the shell and fabric, etc. and then push it through to make the button.

As for the bobby pins, there is another group buy going on for that so look in the group buy section and you can find it there.

okay, I have a question. I read that most people use the 7/8 for the bobby pins, but they seem so big. I looked at one of the brads I use and it looks more like the 3/4. Does anyone who has purchased these before have advise on the two sizes? Thx

I haven't bought them yet, but I think it would just be a matter of personal preference. Heather posted some in another thread where she used the 7/8" (maybe if you beg her she'll take another picture of it on her dd so you can see it-haha), but there's nothing that says you have to use either or.

And, we still need 4.5 gross more of those (3/4") ordered for the minimum, so order up! lol

On another note (and again, I haven't done any of these yet-this is just what I was thinking about while ordering them), I plan on doing the pony o's as well and I thought that using the 7/8" for the small pony o's would kill 2 birds with one stone by just ordering that size rather than having too many choices, kwim? I ordered 1 1/8" too for larger pony o's.

You're the best Heather thx for sharing those! I was in HL today and just had to buy a set because I'm getting impatient-lol! I bought 7/8" since that's one I plan on ordering. Now if I can get my stupid research paper done I can finish up my orders and then play!

I must have missed this or just didn't realize it was here.

Anyway, I want to make these too. So, do you just have to have fabric to make these? It comes with everything else right?

Oh yeah, why am I doing this??? I don't have time! lol! But they are SOO cute and I would love to make them. This means I have to start buying fabric too! lol.

Yep, it comes with everything but the fabric. You'll need a push tool if you don't have one of those.

Speaking of push tools, does anyone know if they are universal? At HL today I bought a 7/8" Dritz set and just wondered if it will work on these too. I had planned on getting 2 sets anyway just in case I lost one, so now I guess I could just try one and hope that this one works too in case I'd ever need it.

It depends on the size you want and I have the prices listed in the first post of this thread, but they range from .91-$1.45 I think so they are pretty cheap!

It's the tool that helps you make the buttons and wraps the fabric around it. You could do it by hand, but the tool would be quicker and easier I'm sure!
