I just signed up for wahmshoppes and paid. I purchased my domain name from yahoo. Do I have to wait for someone to contact me before I can start working on my website?

From what I understand it does take a few days. (I think mine took 2-3 days when I first signed up..been so long I can't remember) You should get a email with all the info in it once they have you set up. Here is a link to the support board. http://wahmservices.com/community/ What they recommend is that while you are waiting to go ahead and get product pics ready and descriptions for them. Are you designing the website yourself or hiring someone? There are several on the message board that do the web design at a reasonable price if you don't know how.

I can take an entire week before they will have everything ready for you to start working on your site. You can also by a pre-made template from Whampro.com

great job! do you have experience in web design or did you wing it? what program did you use? i'm asking b/c i just signed up at wahmshoppes and i'm waiting on my starter email. i'm trying to decide if i'm going to have to spend $$ on a designer or if i can wing it and do something myself.

I do have some web experience. I took a web design class a year or two back to get the basics and have been self taught from there. I do have another site but its just a gallery for my cake photos, I haven't updated it in so long.( http://webpages.charter.net/cakesbymiranda/index.htm if you want to check that one out too) Programs lets see I use photoshop to make just about everything ...logo, backgrounds, buttons. Then I used frontpage to do all the html stuff and just copy and pasted that into the HTML on the site. If you need any help just pm or email me.

Thank you! I stopped doing real cakes once my youngest was big enough that all he wanted to do was help...and make me want to pull my hair out! I still make "cakes" so to speak on my website if you look under polymer jewelry there are cake and cupcake earrings and in the key chains there are cupcake and cake slices ...those surprisingly are my best sellers! LOL
