Help!! Question about website value??

Ok ladies. I know you are all wonderful around here I am mostly a lurker on this site but am in need of a bit of advice. I have been offered a website that is in it's infancy. It is up and running with wholesalers in place. What would the value of this website be?

that is an excellent question! I wish I knew the answer or even what formula is used to arrive at a price. Certainly the cost of the web host, any template(s) that were purchased, graphics etc would need to be included. The time invested in setting up the site, especially in the early stages, can be enormous. I guess I would also be sure if there were copyrighted images (or whatever) purchased that those can be transferred to you, the new owner, as well.

good point about the sales, Heather. Also, like your other thread, how are those sales obtained? PPC can get expensive. She did mention it was in its early stages so I'm not sure if it has been around for long.

She just got the store stocked in late Dec. and she said sales started in Jan. She has decided to make a career change. She says that all of the contacts for the suppliers comes with as well as domain through the fall of 2009.

is there actual merchandise or is it drop shipping? If actual inventory is included, you'd have to cost that out, too...or perhaps not; unless that is part of the sale terms, you buy the inventory as well. Sorry, but I'm not much help!

it is drop shipping from other SAHM's. she says you can buy items to stock from some of them but she has drop ship agreements with most of them.

I'd want to see the contracts or agreements she has with them. Drop shipping is good for you, lol! You get money, they do the work and you don't have inventory hanging around. It is good for them, too. They get work, you pay for the site and advertising etc.
