I need Traffic

I just published my site, it is still under construction, but I want to get traffic to it, so that when its ready, people will actually see it. Does anyone have little tricks to help get traffic to your site, that doesnt cost hundreds of dollars?

I dont know much, but I was reading about generating traffic and what not and one thing I read was not to submitt your site to the search engines while under construction. Something to do with keeping it updated and adding things regualrly will help it "CRAWL" up the list. Once it sits for awhile because nothings going on it can actually be removed from the list and take months to years to get back on the list. I will look for the site I ofund this stuff on.

Do a blog, facebook and twitter! Then post a give away on your blog. I generated 35 followers on my blog in 2 days as well as received about 150 hits on my website so far. That is in just 2 days! You can see my give away and how i did it at www.pinkydd.blogspot.com. Oh, i also did a search for blog give aways. Many sites post blog give aways. So i posted my give away on other blogs! So their traffic then comes to me! Hope that helps!

Thnaks Ladies, my site is shopquecute.com I am publishing regularly as I add images, and edit data...I am on facebook and My Space, and have been for a while, but I dont think I have drawn enough attention to it...maybe it is still really bare

I would love to know where you read that too - I'm working on my site now and need to figure out how to get traffic as well!!
Oh, btw, I love your flowers, they are just PERFECT! I was working on making some small flowers last night and they weren't turning out very well. I can do larger fabric flowers, but the little ones give me trouble.
