Default Opinions needed on my website

I am slowing working on my website on the side. I am very nervous about it and would like to have some unbaised opinions. I would rather fix any problems now than have it effect my customers later. [

It isn't turned up yet so that is why the index is behind it, w/o it you would just get a coming soon page. I am trying to load things here and there. Should I wait until everything is loaded b4 I open it up to the public??

Thanks everyone!!!

Michelle would probably be the best person to answer that question.

Hi Mindy,

I think you can make it public as long as all categories have products. For those empty categories, is there a way to disable them?

I love the colors too!
I think you can open it now I just wouldn't go crazy advertising until you have all your product on.

Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to post to my question!! I think I will get some more things loaded. I am going to start taking pictures of the stuff I make for my girls and other people and use those instead of trying to make stuff up just for the website.

Hi veronica,

I think you mean your own online store. This is what you need:

1. You need a webhosting company to host your website so you have your own website.

Do not use the 'FREE' webhosting service. The pop up windows will drive your customers away. The web hosting service I'm using is HostMonster.COM , $4.95/month if you pay for 2 years in advance. 30 day money back guarantee. Free domain name (that is www.hipgirlclips.com for free).

2. After you pay for your webhosting, you need to set up your online store--shopping cart, customer login, inventory... ... (please browse my website www.hipgirlclips.com/store. Anything you see is 'online store'. To set up this store, you need a 'Shopping Cart Software'. I got mine free--Zencart. If you are not a high tech person like me --I have 15 years IT experience-- you need to hire somebody to do the initial configuration for you. Then what you need to do is easy: add products to your website using the forms provided. I think if you purchase the shopping cart software, you can handle the installation and configuration yourself since it's much user friendly. Maybe other store owner may help you with that topic.

Hope this will help.

Michelle

I hired buzzingbeedesigns.com to design my website and all the add-ons. Business cards, bow cards, etc. Aimee is her name and she is wonderful and very helpful and will help you every step of the way. She will make you a template (she will ask you for your vision and make 3 choices and then critic from there)and will help you get it "setup". It is up to you to load the products but it was easy once I got the hang of it. John I think from Merchantmoms.com is my host and register of my domain name. He is also very help and you can call him for the "details" with the shopping cart, he will double check everything to make sure it is all done correctly and setup w/ PayPal.
