I have a myspace page and an etsy shop and I have never sold a thing from myspace. I am sure it is the way I have it displayed or people just go to the website b/c I have it. I have yet to really generate much interest to my bow myspace. It's basically just my friends.

I would like to try the my space page. I had thought about WAHM Shoppes, but maybe the myspace would be a good start. Do they just pay by paypal? I will check out your site when I get home. That site is blocked on my work computer

We just enjoy going to them as a hobby. The hairbow market at craft shows is so over done it is unreal, Last yr we went to one show that had 50 booths and over half of them had hairbows in them. Not only are vendors competing with other SAHM that are trying to make a few dollars now you have to compete with the people buying cheap bows from over seas and selling them as their own.

I have a 30,000+ website. I have been in business for over 5 years and while I won't say my exact yearly income I can say it is way over 30,000, so much so my husband has been able to quit his job to stay at home and help watch our 5 kids while I work at my business. We also just had our new house built and bought on my income Don't get me wrong, it was not easy to get to this point and took YEARS to get here and years worth of 14+ hour work days....

WOW!
I have seen your site before. How in the world do you have enough time to make all those bows? That is the hardest part, I think.

Yes, it is very time consuming but this has turned into a full blown business for me, nothing part time or a hobby I have to work a set schedule or it is easy to get behind. I have got pretty speedy at pumping out the bows over the years and it helps that my hubby is home every day to help me!

I love my business and wouldn't have it any other way

Any tips for me on getting started? I only have an etsy site and have just started to do craft fairs. My etsy is doing well. I was getting orders on almost a daily basis since mid january until these last 4 days(not 1!!). I plan to start a 'real' website this summer. I know it's not an instant thing by any means. I only started selling this past fall and have not even been making bows for a year yet. I have the time to put into it while I stay at home. I did/do plan to go back to work full-time when all our kids are born and in school(prob about 6 years). I would love to have my bow business doing well by then, so I don't have to work full-time.
TIA!

Jennifer...you just amaze me. I told dh about you awhile back when you first told us that your dh got to stay home and help you with the kids. He never once thought that you could make that much out of making bows but I explained to him how you did it and he was like "wow". That book of yours on getting your business started has so much info in there that I have not even done everythnig you have mentioned yet. I am going to advertise this summer in two different regions in our state and I am hoping to bring in more sales. My etsy store is making nothing but I am getting custom orders from my website and here locally.
