Started a Blog - Check it Out

Hi all - started a blog and wanted to get your opinions. I signed up AdSense with Google, where they place relevant ads on your site and you get paid per click. I also got a Google Search bar, where I get paid if someone uses the search function. Hope it doesn't look too cluttered.

Very cute! My only concern would be that the google links are to other hair bow stores online. People can just click on those and purchase bows from somebody else...

Thanks for the comments everybody. I did not design it myself, I scoured the internet for free templates for forever before I found one that looked nice. I think at the very bottom of the page is the creator's link.

That would be cool if you used my Google Search bar! I have used people's tons of times on other websites, and before I looked into this I didn't realize that they were paid to put it on their site. Technically, not supposed to use it myself or click on my own ads. I do look at them though because they change each time you log on. So far it has coincided with my labels: Craft show info websites, my city's newspaper website, etc. I have not had other hair bow people's yet. I do believe that when you sign up, you can choose to eliminate competiting sites. I only chose to ban porn/mature information from my ads. You get reports of what ads people clicked on, etc. and then you get paid per click and for page impressions. So, today I made a grand total of $1.14! Woo-hoo! I believe you receive your first check when you reach $10. Not exactly lots of cash, but if you advertise the heck out of your site, you will get a lot of people looking.

You can put adsense on your website, blog, etc. Right now I just have it on my blog. I drive business to my blog by having it on the front page of my site, saying check it out. If I get $7 a month through having it on there, it is like getting free hosting, ya know?
