Default Help with godaddy.com

To all of you tech-savvy business people out there...
I need help with godaddy.com. I want to register my domain name, even though I am not ready to "go online" with my business yet. I just want it to be an option in the future.

Please tell me about purchasing the domain name. I understand how to check for it, how to get it in the cart, etc... But, I need help with the technical aspects of it. What extras do I need? What exactly do the costs include? The domain name I want is $6.99 a year, but it says "recurring". Does that mean it is actually monthly?? Please, any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Leslee

hmmm. I am not exactly sure. I looked at godaddy, but I was recommeded to to go 1and1.com. It was 6.99/year with no other costs. You get one free email included in that too (example - my domain is alibugbowtique.com and my email is [email protected]). I think the email looks more professional instead of @hotmail.com, etc. I just bought is last week or so and haven't done a store yet either. I just wanted to buy my domain for now. I also hear they have great hosting services (like 3.99/month). I wish I could help with godaddy.com, but I don't know much. 1and1.com was very simple to register...

well, I don't know it well enough to explain it, but I think that they provide the space for your website. 1and1 includes a "website builder" to help build your website, but I haven't used it so I don't know how it works. But it sounds fairly easy. I don' t know if it means that if you buy their 3.99/month plan that you will be able to make your own online store or if there are other costs involved. Sorry I am not much help! I would look at 1and1.com and see what is included and maybe that will help?
