~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Got a bunch of 100yd 3/8" satin ribbon that matches my Mini Bow inventory. So I made these boxes as storage boxes and ribbon dispensor.
1. Need a box to hold the ribbon. I use 8x8x16" box. I'm not sure where to find 1 box but I know you can find 25 boxes at uline.com--$0.52 for 1 8x8x20" box. Here is the link.
http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_...esc=Long+Boxes
2. Cut the slot as shown using box opener or whatever tool you have. Seal both edge with tape to make them 'smooth'.
3. Make a homemade measuring tape on the box if you like
4. put the spools in the box and thread the ribbon through the slot. No dowel needed.
5. put the boxes on shelf. Done.
Wow michelle. That looks great. And I really like the idea of the tape measure on the front for measuring ribbon lengths. Great Job!!
That looks great! I came up with something similar as well. I cheated and used priority mail boxes. Hey, I had them on hand. I've got 3 of them stacked on top of each other. The only problem I'm having is that I think I put too many in one box. I have a flap on the front and when I pull one one ribbon two others come out as well and since I've taped the flap down I can't get inside easily. Guess I'll have to take it apart and redo the flap part.
Yes. It'll be better to leave the flap open because you want to check the inventory from time to time.
Great idea! See how making a small box for ribbon storage just blossomed into the large box idea.
Guess you could say that you thought Outside the Box!
