I use something similar to this Iris Mesh Baskets - Clear (Medium) (Set of 6) : Target
Only I use the small ones that target sells in blue and pink for like $6 something for a set of three. Leave the ribbon rolled and stand them all up side by side and stick part of it through the holes for easy acces, it unrolls as you pull it out.

I had the name brand one of those. If you only have short lengths, like for scrapbooking, I think it might be ok. But it bugged me. The ends were always getting pulled back inside and the ribbons would get tangled.

I store my bows that are complete and loose ribbon in these until I get it put up. The boxes are from HL and are 7.99. I only buy them on sale or with my 40% coupon. They stack really great and I can see exactly what is inside. I store my korked ribbon in the tall bins, one set is really wide and works great.
