~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Currently, my bow stuff takes up a small part of the dining room, a corner of the living room, and one part of the basement.
I would *love* (can I repeat LOVE?!?!) to have a seperate room for just the bow operation, but alas, at the moment it isnt meant to be. How do you store your things or keep them from taking over your house? I have a great storage solution, but not enough space for all of it in one area. I have a massive amount of the 100 yard rolls- at least one of every 3/8" solid/dot/stripe that RABOM carries, plus specialty prints. Thats an entire shelving unit/bin system in the basement. And I go through about 100 yards of korked ribbon during any given week. If you have pictures of your work space that ISNT it's own room (shares with another "living space") I would LOVE to see it! Thank you!! ~Karen
I currently take up space in our dining room. I have a large armoire that I keep the ribbon and other stuff in. I use the little organizer containers for buttons, beads, embellishments, I use baskets for other items, large gallon size baggies for ribbon I've korked but haven't used yet. I posted a picture a while back, I've got quite a bit more since I've gotten my large UB order in now so I've cleaned out the other side now and using pretty much all the armoire. I have 2 large under the bed storage totes that I'm using to store the bows that are made and ready for the craft show too.
It sucks that I have to clean up my space in order to eat dinner, Friday, Sat and Sun we either eat in the living room or outside on the picnic table so I don't have to put anything away until Monday during the day. Here's the link to my armoire We eat dinner at pretty much every night at the dining table so I have to keep things picked up. I want my own craft room, but 6 ppl in a 1000 sq ft doesn't compute! |
My craft area (scrapbooking, altering, card making, bow making, etc) is in our great room. My desk is up against the back of our couch and I have wire shelves behind my chair along a wall. Above the wire shelf I have shelves holding my ribbon (although nowhere near what you're talking about). I also have a ton of stuff stored under my desk and will be adding under the couch storage shortly.
It actually works out well that it's not in another room since I can work with DD playing or working at her desk. I don't have pix of the whole area and I'm in the middle of scrapping Disneyland, so I'm too embarassed to take pix right now. ![]() |
I don't have huge amounts of ribbon but I do have a lot of supplies.
I sold my dining room table and converted my dinning room to my office. My forth bedroom up stairs was hubby's office already so I could not take it. I bought a nice desk with a full hutch that has three cubby holes for storage, plus storage there is plenty of storage on top. That is where I keep my ribbon rolls. I store many of my supplies is clear plastic bins with lids. I also have one that has slide out draws that I use for headbands. I organize my hair clips on a cd rack. ![]() I organize my hair clips in this cool container that each tray snaps together and comes apart easy. I also use pretty boxes for storage. ![]() Last edited by creativekiddos : 05-06-2008 at 06:28. |
Well, in our duplex we are in right now, I'm lucky enough to have a closet! Yep, my craft room is a closet! Ok, I don't have the whole closet, we store stuff in there, too, lol!
In the last house, I had an armoire. Like a computer one. Its huge, from Ikea. I also scrapbook, stamp, make cards, crochet, sew and other various crafts. I had everything in there except a box for sewing under the bed.
Ok, I don't feel so bad now. I, too, am in a corner of my dining room! We have absolutely no room with 3 kids and 3 bedrooms! My dh got tired of our kitchen table and island always being filled up with bows. We had to rearrage our table so we could fit a desk and storage container in the corner of the dining room. I need to make enough money selling bows to finish our basement so I have my own craft room.
