When you don't have another room...

I have a craft room but its currently the storage room for all the supplies for when my hubby remodels our bathroom so I have all my ribbon in Avon boxes.. I have a tool caddy with all my glue, scissors, wire, etc. and I have one of those plastic drawer thingies with 4 drawers that has all the clips, snaps and what not and then I have another avon box with the finished bows which I really need to get my craft room back so I can store those better so they don't get ruined

I don't have a room either. I wish!!!! I also have taken over the dining room. We never have used it for a dining room so it wasn't a big deal. The dining room is computer, grand's toy, and a craft room all piled into one. I don't have a pic. I can't keep it cleaned up long enough to get one that I am not embarassed to show. I have one whole wall as my area. I have two of those plastic rolling storage things that have like 7 drawers that I keep all of my headbands, beads, embellishments,and smaller rolls of ribbon in. I have another rolling storage unit that is smaller in height that fits under the table. I have one of those 5 or 6 foot folding tables that I work at. I bought a wooden shoe shelf from Lowe's and use that on my table to hold jars full of clips/barettes/pony o's, glue sticks and whatever else I need to reach quick. At the end of that, I have a small folding table that is big enough for my sewing machine to sit on. Plus I have alot of the shoe box size bins to keep all of my other crafting ventures in.

I found this cabinet on clearance at Walmart and bought it. It will hold all of my stuff if I organize it correctly! I now have 2 carts in the bottom of it instead of just one and they are overflowing, so I may have to figure out a better space saver way other than those to put my spools on.


Otherwise, this is what my couch looks like on most days...only the ribbons are stacked on the couch now that my ds is mobile.



Most things don't get put away because I'm too lazy to have to get up and put them back each time, so everything ends up stacked everywhere. I need my own room too...I'm trying to convince DH that the house would be much more clean if I had a room to myself

i have rubbermaid bins with ziploc bags in them which hold ribbon divided by color, print, size etc that currently sit in my garage
i need to reclaim a corner of my dining room so i can get some rolling drawers for storage and some smaller drawer storage for embellshments etc so i do not have to dig through containers (murphy's law...the ribbon i want is always on the bottom )

I found this cool crafting armoire made by sauder. I love it! It stays in my Kitchen/dining room. When I want to make bows, I pull up the table and get a chair from teh dining room. My camera is dead, so I can't take pics right now, but I'll find a link to if for you. IT's so cute!! My ribbon is housed in my laundry room for now. It's all on dowels. I dont have nearly as much as the rest of you do though.

My first craft room was in a closet also! I had to have something because the house was getting unkept with ribbon cuts all over and other stuff. I wish I had a picture but basically I had a table inside and a shelf up top. If you go to flickr and search for craft rooms you can get some ideas on how to organize your space.

I think now that I have a big one I just end up buying more stuff to fill it up with

well not much space in my place, but in my front closet, I only hang the big coats in there, so I have some rolling drawers in there that i put my ribbon spools in. I think I am going to have to buy another one and not put the wheels on so I can stack it on top and go up with is. I don't have much finished bows, sooo gonna have to work on that. might have to hand some ribbon on a hanger so i can store my bows LOL
