Default Home Made Storage Cube--Get my ribbons organized

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is not for organizing ribbons for your hairbows. I sell ribbons so I need room for them.
Look what I made:
Each cube is 16"x16"x16". 4 small boxes (8"x8"x16") fit in the cube. I resealed the small boxes and cut a hole on it to retrieve spools. Then just stack them against the wall. Pretty steady. And those small boxes -- they are drawers. I can pull one out!!!
Another thing, arrange the ribbons in alphabetic order so I can fill the orders more efficient (so I can have time to post threads here )
The cost? Boxes are free. I used a cordless sissors ($8) to cut the cube boxes and the box cutter (found in the basement) to cut the hole on small boxes (small boxes are very thin).
Here is my review of the cordless sissors:
Default Where did I get those free boxes?
The ribbons were shipped to me in those boxes. I used them all this time. I'll have more shipment soon. I'm going to offer them free under 'free cycling' forum. 100% free for local pickup (anybody lives in Chicago?) but will charge shipping cost if out of Chicago.
Default Get boxes from Walmart, Samsclub
The boxes under the rack with 100yd spools--those are from Walmart (free of course), for displaying and selling Gatorade. If you shop at Samsclub, you'll notice that they stock everything using boxes. Those boxes are steady, stackable, easy to retrieve items inside and best of all, they are free.
Default make the storage cubes more secure
The cubes are steady enough for me since they are between the rack and the wall. If you want to place them in the middle, you can use self adhesive velcro to bond big cubes together. Make them formal garage furniture
Default Ribbon Storage
Ladies,
I saw Michelle's ribbon storage container that she made and WoW! After I saw that I was surfing the web and came across this, which reminded me of Michelle's latest invention. I email it to her and she asked me to post it here for you ladies to check out.
Let me know if you have any problems with this link!
THanks,
Kelli
Default Storage Bin
Thank you very much Kelli.
I was considering to purchase storage stuff before I came up with the storage cube idea. The other thing I need is for my minibow clips inventory. I have 25 colors, each color 500pc=1 gallon bag.
1st row: lt pink, lt orchid, apple-wh, orange
2nd row: blue, red, pink, maize
3rd row: apple-y, gold, apple-sw, purple, lt orchid-sw, lt blue, hot pink
1st row: a-cream, a-gold, a-lt pink
2nd row: a-red, a-blue, a-lt orchid, a-green
3rd row: a-pk/brown, a-maize, a-orange
I found this online:
http://www.shoplet.com/office/db/FEL00723.html
samsclub.com sells at $0.78 but I have to pay sales tax and shipping fee.
I think the price is reasonable. Almost placed the order. But think I don't really need them because those gallon bags are stored in the cabinet.
Post the thread here because the price is good. you may find a way to use it.
