~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I use to sell on ebay. I stored tons of supplies but not a lot of premade things. Now that I am stock piling inventory for crafts shows this fall I am unsure how to handle the hundreds of pretty bows on my kitchen table. My husband informed me tonight... "I remember when we ate at the table."
I have some of them in zip lock bags but I would love to get them on cards and ready for my shows. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to store my inventory? Thanks![]() |
I say this as I am packing up for a craft show and wish I had a better system, so I am not practicing what I preach....
Buy clear totes/tubs. Then buy smaller ones that will fit inside. Organize the different types into the smaller ones, then stack into the bigger ones and then you can stack those in a garage, spare room, etc. This works fine for the streamers, tuxedos, headbands, etc. I am not great yet at the layered works of art like some people are, so I don't have to worry about those. Not sure how people keep those because you would not want to get them squashed.....
I've done lots of craft fairs, and this is the method I used...
I got 40 large and 40 small pizza boxes (new, from our local pizza place- he sold them to me for around a quarter each) and I folded them with the pizza logo on the inside (so that they would look professional from the outside. They stack so nicely, and you can label the front and easily find what you're looking for. I still use them to store premades. To transport them, I would stack 15-20 of them, secure them together (I used adjustable straps that dh had in the garage) and then loaded them onto my little pushcart and off I went. Once I was set up for the craft fair, I would store the boxes under cloth-covered tables, so that if I ran out of any particular item I could get more from the boxes. |
I posted this a little while back. I get these at HL and I love them. They are deep enough for my bows, but not a lot of wasted stace when stacked. They are clear and I can see everything. I place the bows on cards, price them, punch hole in card, and in the box they go. I can stack 6 or 7 easily and still manage to tote them with no problem.
Pizza box ideas sounds easy, really doable and cheap too. Maybe print a small picture and paste on top of the box for quick visual scan. Just a thought.
