How do you determine your wholesale prices?

I have someone interested in purchasing from me wholesale long distance in fairly large quantities. I have set prices for the boutiques that I deal with here locally and they seem to be pretty fair, but from she has told me the price that someone else quoted her for a particular order and it is almost giving it away!

How do you determine what your wholesale price is? I feel my prices are more than fair, if not cheap and I don't want to work for free. I would think they would rather have a quality product KWIM? Sorry for my rambling.....just some thoughts would be helpful!

Did this person approach you? If so then they already like your product. I would quote them the same as your local prices with a volume discount if they are ordering A LOT.

Be careful, she may be just be bluffing you to get you to come down on the price. Be firm with your price. You need to profit, not give away your merchandise.

alot of people do 60/40 (you get 60) but i'm doing 70/30. I think it's fair that the seller gets a 30 profit but I'm still making it worth my time to make them.

I'm sorry for being dense, but...what is 60/40 or 70/30. If the store sells it for $10, then you wholesale it for $7??? Do you sak how much before you determine your price?

I say be firm on your price too. Many of these people don't realize the time and effort you are putting in to make them. It's not fair if you would come down on your price and she would sell them for more than what you do and make more profit off of them than you when you put in all the work.
