Default Refund issue

I need someone to help me. I made 25 cheer bows with french clips that almost all broke. I feel terrible because the bows took a while to make and they look very pretty. I offered to replace all the clips with pony o's but I am not sure I did the right thing. I offered to ship them back to her in 24 hours, priority mail. Should I remake all the bows and send a new set with pony o's. I am frustrated because originally the client wanted them made and sent to her in 4 days. When I actually pulled that off, she ended up not paying me for three weeks. Honestly I don't have the time or money to remake 25 bows. I had to special order the ribbon. What should I do? I am a total newbie in this business. During the summer I might have been able to to replace all the bows, but now I am a teacher and mom to three and there just isn't enough hours in the day.

As a business, if they broke becuase of the quality of the clip, then you really should replace them. Not necessarilly the bows but the clips. Unfortunatly its the cost of doing business... i have had to take losses on orders... it just happens when you have a business

Okay, that does help. I absolutely want to replace the clips. But I the buyer wants me to replace the entire bow so that they don't miss a game without bows. That is my issue. Fixing the current bows are no problem at all. AND, i think she wants me refund the 150.00 for the bows. UGH, I so cannot do that. I did an expidited order for her without additional charge and then she didn't pay me on time.

For the future, NEVER put cheer bows on French clips. They don't hold and can't take the punishment of multiple cheer routines. Plus most cheer squads are not allowed to wear anything with metal on it.

I would ask her to ship all of the bows to you at your expense, put them securely on pony o's with no metal and then overnight them back to her at your expense. If the clips broke, then the actual bows should be fine.

Expensive lesson--

Tha is exactly what I told her in the beginning. I never put cheer bows on a clip. I make competition bows and have never had one break or come out with a super secure pony o. And that is what I offered, to have her ship them to me and I would ship back priority. BUT, that is not good enough. The problem for me is that I don't know her and I know all the other coaches I do bows for because they are local. She is in another state. But, I put the offer out there. Should I just leave it at that or give her a 100% refund.

I agree! If she asked for them to be made on a clip, and it didn't hold up, you are responsible to replace the clips only. You can eat the shipping costs and the price of the pony-o's. A refund would be out of the question. You are willing to correct a problem she caused in the first Place by requesting the French clips.

Just my two cents!

I dont make cheer bows but I totally agree with what the others said... I know that most sports cant have any hair stuff with metal. The fact that she requested the clips (probably knowing they wouldnt hold up) is enough to not refund her.. I hope she will cooperate with you...
