Default Care & Content Labelling for Handmade Items

I've just started doing the rounds of our local handmade markets and one market is about to implement a new rule that if your handmade items (be it clothing, toys, sleepwear, whatever) do not have a label on them stipulating size, care and content complying with the relevant product Australian Standard then your application will be rejected. I think this is a good idea and will cull out the serious crafters from the not so serious IYKWIM. Not only that, but it's safe and smart. Just wondering if anything like this has been implemented in the US in regards to small time SAHM crafters who make items and sell at local markets?
