Default Besides Paypal: Is there another way to send and receive money

I am so frustrated with paypal. I have over and over again been charged by itunes for transactions that are not mine. I don't even have an account with them. I cancel my cards over and over again. It is so frustrating and paypal won't stop it or give me my funds back because they say I am doing it but I am not. Hundreds and Hundreds of dollars over the past year. I am so frustrated I could scream:wal lbash::wal lbash:. I would like to cancel my paypal account but don't know of another way to send and receive money. Any suggestions?

Just about two months ago someone bought $1450 worth of MP3's from two different websites using my paypal. When I got the emails from paypal showing the transactions, I figured it was just spam since people have gotten so good at making their own emails look like legit ones from paypal. Anyway, I went into my online bank account and saw the 13 transactions taken out of my account. I about had a cow, let me tell you. You have to be very careful of who you buy from, if you buy from ebay for example. If they use a different method they use to get their money from you, make sure the url starts with https which means it is secure (rather than just http). If you already know this, I'm sorry....but lots of people do not know. I figured someone used the software that records keystrokes and got my password that way. Still not exactly sure how it happened but that's gotta be the only way. My husband and I don't own MP3 players so we would have no reason to buy them. I have better things to spend my money on anyway.... i.e. RIBBON! So I would suggest changing your password to something completely off the wall....mine includes a word, numbers, and random letters thrown in. Or cancel that account and open a different one. Also, you can always contact your bank (again, if you have, I don't mean to offend you...just throwing things out there) and dispute the charges. They will investigate themselves and could possibly give you a different account number. Just a couple thoughts Good luck and sorry this has happened to you

People can email you money. You both just have to have online banking and then it's easy. That really sucks about paypal, ive had banking fraud and it sucks!

OMG! One of my good friends just had $2,000 taken from her pp account! And she hasnt used it in months! Her debit card is on file for back source and it sta`rted pulling money from there! She too is having a hard time working with her bank n pp to recover it. I wish that i did know of a good place to share with you but unfortuntly I dont so I'll keep watching this thread to see if anyone else does.

I don't really have any advice of anybody besides paypal, but what I do want to recommend is banking with an institution that will protect you against fraud 100%. That way, if pp doesn't resolve it for you, your bank will.

FYI, Bank of America is GREAT at that. I've had my account 'stolen' many of times... and usually THEY (the bank) finds out even before I do. At least twice I've gone to use my atm card and it gets declined. And I'll be like WHAT?!?!? I just got paid yesterday so i KNOW that there's $$$ in there! By the time I call the bank they inform me fraudulent use was being attempted on my card and they cancelled it a replacement is in the mail. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to me! I don't know how they do it, but they do. And they also have me check for any charges that I did not authorize and they will refund the $ and take it up with the company that put the charges there.

Sorry so long & I rambled, lol... but just an idea. Maybe it could help you or somebody else

There is also the google checkout, although I don't know much about it not sure if you can send/receive money like you do with paypal.

Your bank should help you fight the charges, if they aren't your then you shouldn't have to pay for them (unless you had that much in your paypal account and it didn't come off your card, in which case I'm jealous).

Good luck!

Not meaning to hijack the thread but Bank of America actually did that with my mom when she was across the country (even though she bought plane tickets with the same account) and she was stuck with NO money and had to wait for her card. I wish they would try and contact you before canceling your card, to me that is a bit extreme.

There is Amazon Payments. I don't know much about it, but a lot of people prefer it on Etsy because the percentage is lower. Hope that helps.

You are supposed to ALWAYS contact all credit cards and banks and notify them that you are going out of country or they will flag your card. It is an inconvenience but it is definitely for your security.
