Default Do I need permission to sell affiliated items?

I'm getting ready to start selling bottlecap bows/jewelry. I'm wondering if I need anything if I start to sell bottle caps w/ logos of teams (MLB, NFL etc) on them?

the legal answer is yes. you need to buy a license from sources such as those.

Yep, you'll need to do the licensing requirements for each organization. it's not cheap either!

There are a lot of people that do it and hope they can fly under the radar. You open yourself up to issues that you don't want though. I'd sleep easy and skip licensed items.
Have we been in a transaction? Please leave me feedback and ask me to do the same. THANK YOU!

Rachel there has been many many posts about using licensed bottlecaps on the forum. It's a personal decision. There have been people that have never been caught and there are other that receive a cease and desist letter and possible fines. I believe NFL, Disney, Harley Davidson, all have people that scour the net for offenders. I know of one person that had posted here a year or two ago that actually spent their Sunday afternoons browsing etsy and ebay to turn people in.

It is illegal to copy copyrighted images and put them on anything, ribbon, bottlecaps, etc. But as the other poster said, many do it and can fly under the radar undetected.
