Default Do you let people come to your house to pick up items?

I listed on craigslist and have had a few inquiries but I'm a little weary of letting people come to my house to pick up their stuff. I let my friends and family do it but I'm just not sure about a stranger... Do any of you do this?

My mom has posted my items on craigslist before and I did have a lady come to her house to pick up a tutu and hat with bow. But that was the only time, I have never had anyone else. I do not see anything wrong with.

My mom lives in a bigger city, when I list things for my area on craigslist I do not get any replies, but then I live in a town of 2000

Never! There are too many crazies out there. I meet in busy locations like target close to an enterance or at a bank. They tend to have cameras everywhere and the bad guys know it.

If they do come to the house, I make sure my husband is home. I try to take stuff to work with me and have them meet me here or somewhere close. Don't ever do it by yourself!!!! It's not worth the money you're getting for the item with your life!

If I don't know them well enough that I would already tell them where I live, I DON'T. I find somewhere to meet them, and do so when DH can be with me. Safety first!

I think it depends on where you live. If you are in a remote area I definately would not--no one would know what ever happened. If you are in a very populated area and it is day I would, but never let them in your home. Do the transaction outside. At my house the neighborhood jokes that I have a drug drop. People come, pick up packages and leave me money?! But the whole neighborhood knows what I do! I have also met customers at a close business like a grocery store or gas station or something with a lot of people around. Just be safe in whatever you do.

I do not, I meet them someplace nearby. Like at a grocery store or something like that. There are a lot of weirdos in my area & I'm not willing to risk it.

I think if I do go ahead and do it, I'll make sure my husband is home. I'm not sure where to meet in my town, but that is definitely a great idea. I just didn't know if that was too wierd or informal meeting at a random parking lot or store but it definitely isn't worth risking! Thanks ladies
