Default Set up in the mall

My partner and I have the opportunity to have a set up in the mall (tables, grids, etc) Black Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for $500. It's a really busy mall.

My question is, would you do this? The last craft fair we did together we did fairly well for one day, $500, from 9-5.

If I had the inventory and the money for it I would definitely. Before I had kids I always worked in retail management and ALWAYS worked on Black Friday. Your booth will be impulse buyers and depending on your location, like if you were close to children's place or gymboree, etc., you could roll in the dough! People are out shopping with a purpose that day...and I believe you have the potential to do very well. HTH...let us know how it goes!

the few times I did mall shows not with bows, etc but handmade soap, candles, etc it was a bust every single time. The people come looking mainly for the sales and the big discounts and I just couldn't afford to discount my items that much being handmade. also, you will need to definitely make sure you have helpers cause the theft rate can be big the pro's come in groups and if youi are too busy to watch your inventory goes flying away without being paid for. I am not trying to be negative just giving you some of my trials and tribulations, I would think long and hard before I did anything in a mall again but I do know some people have been very successful it seems the malls in the smaller towns are best for
handmade items people appreciate them more please keep us updated with your results if you decide to do this I'd be interested in another point of view or anothers experiences.

I think you would do very well. That is a BUSY day and people are prepared to spend some money. I'd maybe put together gift baskets or bow bouquets. Also people are looking for a deal that day so maybe do a 2 for? type thing. Sounds like fun, and an oppurtunity to get your name out there too.

have fun!
