Default Girls how long did it take you to get your business going?

I am curious, I am not super green in the bow business but I haven't even be at this a year so I wondered how long did it take you to finally feel like you were making money and getting orders on a regular basis? I think this would be good for newbies and everyone else. I know I will be at this a year in October and I feel like I am just barely peaking my head above water. he he he This could be really interesting

Hmmm...I would say at least a year with an active website. Currently I get orders everyday, and we've been active for almost 4 years. I did a bunch of craft shows/sales to build up a local base and use to ebay and etsy like crazy. Now it's mostly word-of-mouth and repeat customers, wholesale, etc. It's just the right amount of busy and I'm turning a good profit. However, I saw profit right away. I only invested the money that I made into supplies and only sold what I had, so within about 4-6 months I felt like I was seeing profit.

I'm the same way as Ruby. At first ebay orders, tons of advertising on free websites, my blog and after a year, I couldn't be happier. I get enough orders to keep me happy and keep me busy.

Its a patience game for sure, but worth it in the end.

I would also say about a year. After a year I received orders everyday and made a very good profit every month.

about 6 months. I took only $200 and got supplies I needed. I sold only to family and friends for the first 3 months. Anything I made went back into it and buying more supplies. Within 6 months I was making enough to where I could replace what I used and buy more supplies to try other things and expand. I think you are making a profit when you are able to sustain your craft. It's going on 2 years now and I am making enough to help out with bills and stuff. Not where I want to be, but i'm about half way there. We have had issues so i haven't been able to keep expanding like I want.

Eventually I will be where I want to be with this.
