Default Home Shows

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if any of you out there have ever done any home shows? It is something I am interested in doing, but I'm trying to test the water a bit first and see if anyone has had success at it. I spoke to someone on facebook the other day that does quite a few and said she averages $450 a show and had one that made almost $1000 last month! She does all cash and carry items, which of course is a huge overhead cost and a big gamble to take if your shows aren't successful. I'm thinking about trying a couple out on some of my friends. Does anyone have any suggestions or strategy or experience doing this? Thanks!!

I do home parties (bow parties) and definitely think they are worth it. My last one I sold $800 worth which was my best so far. I have averaged before this about $500 each party.

I do alot better at home parties then at craft shows. I think because there is no competition with other stallholders and the people are at the party purely for the purpose of buying your stuff.

My parties are cash and carry and I do take custom orders as well.

Definitely try it out on your friends, and hopefully they will invite a few people that you may not know and you get some more party bookings from and hope it keeps going from there.

I've had good success with them as well. If you search "Home Party" or "Bow Party", you'll find some threads with some great ideas.
