Question In need of help please!

I am new to this site and I am still having an issue navigating my way through it. I had a couple questions, and as this is the most frequently used forum I though I would post it here. I have some really adorable bottle cap images, but I have not yet learned how to put the images on the bottlecaps. is there a certain machine that I need to use or an at-home way to do it? Also, I am really in need of some free tutorials on bows, and I haven't beeen able to find but a couple on this site even though the name of the site is free hairbow tutorials lol Are there really not that many on here, or am I not looking in the right place? Thanks for all of your help!!!!

I believe it is just a trick to get you to purchase products and materials. I have not been able to find the tutorials yet. I plan to move on to the next website that have tutorials. Once I registered I was suppose to see tutorials, NO, No No.

There is no trick, its free to join and free to leave. If you search you can find lots of free info and help. Yes, you can also buy tuts to help you make different kinds of bows. And people also sell supplies, which is great cause some of it you can buy wholesale and some of it is hard to find stuff!! The free stuff you can find should be enough to get you started. Hope you find what you're looking for!

Thank you both for your opinions!! I was able to find some clippie decorative tutorials and stuff, but nothing about bows yet, at least it is something!! Also, I have been able to find some sites through this one that people have posted that sell ribbons and supplies for a lot cheaper, so that makes me happy too. But I do still need tutorials. Does anyone have any sites that do have free tutorials other than youtube???

I used girlythingsbows.com at first. There are a lot of great tutorials. As for this site...it will be your best friend..you just have to use the search button and ask a lot of questions. Maybe you could be more specific about the bow you want to make? Everyone here is really helpful and more than willing to answer any of your questions!

I beleive I saw that bowbusiness.com had free tut's. I have used Youtube before and I really liked Mommycraftsalot and hair-hardware. They were easy to follow and they helped me learn to make things hadn't seen before or to figure out what I was doing wrong :-)

there is no trick. everyone on here is very helpful. there are free instructions to some basic bows. I have been bowmaking for five years. at first just for my daughters, now, not long ago I opened up my own etsy shop. Im getting ready to purchase my first tutorial. you can even search blogs for tutorials. just google what you are looking for if you cant find a tut on here. I know so many who are willing to help and have helped me tons. read through the threads. this is a great forum and without it and the support of other bow makers on here I wouldnt be the bow maker i am today. it takes time and practice. the first bow i mastered was the pinwheel and I believe there is a tut on here and a good one on girly things as well. id be happy to help with what i can if you would be more specfic and direct you somewhere if I cant help. I just dont have the time to lead you to every single free tutorial out there. there are a lot. =) good luck to you

Hey there,

Are you talking about making the bottle caps, or attaching the bottle caps to the bows?

I know nothing of the bow part, but bottle cap images are very easy. If you get a 1" paper punch, you can do just about any image on them, or if you already have 1" stickers, just glue them on with a strong glue, then seal the top with an epoxy resin. The quality of the seal will vary over time. Some may turn yellow or have lots of bubbles if you get a low end resin. If you're buying craft bottle caps you're fine, if you're recycling caps youll have to clean them and sand the bottom rubber seal off.

Here are several free (no trick!) bow tutorials:

This page will direct you to instructions on how to make a wide variety of hair accessories... including a section on bottle caps.

If there's a particular bow you need help with, do a board search for the bow and include the words "How to make"--e.g., "How to make pinwheel bows." You'll get lots of threads with advice from other members and often links to tutorials on other sites.

Good luck!

This site can be a challenge at first to navigate. Don't give up. There's TONS of free directions on here. If you find something you like, print it and then you won't have to search and search for it the next time. Also, do a search for "Bow Contests". The contests have lots of great free directions, as well.
