I list tons for weeks and promote on the boards a ton for days and I only sell something that was a custom from a couple weeks earlier. Then when I don't list items and only visit the boards a little I get a sale.
I can't figure out Etsy. I really think it the luck of the draw weather someone finds your shop.

I couldn't agree more. For a little while I was getting 1 to 2 orders per week, now dead silence. I think there are soooooo many people on etsy now that it's almost flooded. Luckily I have my local stuff as well as some regular customers. I am really about to give up on etsy to be honest. I don't really have the time to promote, blog, whatever with it all day... and when I do the promote thing... I rarely get a response at all... oh welll....I feel your pain!!

I have been considering closing up too. I keep using my small profit to buy supplies and pay relisting/transaction fees. Really the only reason I have been staying is for relatives to see my stuff who want to buy and the ladies who order from my playgroup that buy. It is nice to have my items all listed on a webpage.
