Need expert advice about etsy

Thinking of starting an etsy store to sell bows and clothes. Mainly opening it for local customers to check out my stuff. Gotta question ...is there a way for my local customers to bypass the shipping charges for me to deliver their order? New to etsy.

You would have to make them a custom listing.

Your only other option is to refund the shipping after they check out.

I usually refund the shipping if they are picking it up, or if I know in advance that they are going to purchase it, I reserve the listing for them and edit the shipping to zero.

What if, when they place the order, they wait for you to send them a revised invoice instead of paying the Etsy invoice right away? Wouldn't you have to pay the paypal fee (.30¢) for refunding the money? Sorry, I'm new to Etsy too.

When you issue a refund you get your paypal fees back for that amount. But, yes, you could have them wait for a revised invoice, that is just too many steps for me to take, it's so easy to issue a partial refund!

Thats waht I do, refund the shipping if I see them in person.

Customer may like this way better, only b.c when you are refunded through paypal it goes back to the original way you paid so if you use your credit card (which for me is a check card) the refund goes back there but not right away, I think up to 3 days. Just a thought.
